In this world
I’d like you to imagine yourself
Walking along a moonlit beach
On a warm summers night.
Notice how easily your feet
Slide into the warm sand
Feeling how the sand
Moves between your toes
How your body simply
Sinks
Down a little bit
With each step
Noticing the sounds of the waves
As you slowly get closer to the waters edge
The waves rolling onto the sand
Bubbling up in a surf
As they crash into the beach
And slide back out into the ocean
Leaving the foamy surf to pop slowly
The water is warm
But refreshing.
And the feeling of the waves washing over your feet
Is soothing,
And relaxing
As the sand starts to become a little firmer
Supporting your weight.
You can’t help but take a deep
Slow breath
And breathe in the moist coastal air
The scent of the water
And feeling of the cool breeze on your skin
Is so relaxing
So soothing.
But as you stare out
Seeing the waves lit by the light of a full moon
You can’t help but feel as if
There is something mysterious
About this beach.
Something unusual and special
Local legend says that there is a creature
That lives near this beach.
Many have looked for the creature
But it is said that only those that it chooses
Will be able to find it.
You laugh it off of local legend
A simple myth
To stir up some tourists.
But yet you can’t help but notice a strange
Feeling, in your body
The hairs on the back of your neck
Standing up .
You feel as if…
You are being watched.
Out pure habit,
You scan the shore line,
Noticing several large rocks out in the water
Jutting up from the sea
A light house
In the far distance
It’s light slowly turning in the clear night
Illuminating the water for miles around
Nothing stands out to you.
Just the waves.
And the soft sounds of the wind
It is then that you realize that there is
Another sound
Hidden in the waves, and the wind
Something very other worldly
Melodic, but strange, almost ethereal
Your not sure if it’s coming from the waves
Or the wind
Not sure which direction it is being
Carried your way from
But the more you listen
The more you start to hear this magical song
You start to scan the shore line again
But you see nothing.
Your unaware, however
That you have started to walk
Slowly down the beach
Step by step just seems to fade into your mind
As the song becomes louder
And clearer
As it starts to simply
Form in your mind
Tugging at your thoughts
Coiling around your mind without you even realizing it
It’s pull is irresistible.
You don’t even notice that you are walking
Slowly
Gently
Further into the surf
Step by step leading out into the water
Finding that your now standing in ankle deep water
And walking, slowly
Further out
With each and every step
That you find yourself taking now
It isn’t until the waves
Splash up along your chest
That you realize that you are already in
Waist deep water
For a split second
The spell is broken
And you are able to look around
Able to realize where you are
The song still echoing in your ears
Deeply
Calling to you
You shake your head to try and clear it
To try and free yourself
From the grasp of the song
From it’s pull
But then you see it.
Sitting on one of the larger rock formations
Outlined by the light of the moon
A person…
You can’t make out their features
Only that they appear to be
From the shadow
Quite physically fit
Very attractive.
The song in your ears starts to get a bit louder
A bit stronger
As the shadowy figure moves their hand
And beacons you to join them
The realization of what you are doing
Seems to fade away
As you take in a deep breath
And dive into the water
Swimming against the waves
Following the call
The song seems to get stronger
And deeper
The closer you get
The pull is so powerful
You’ve never felt a need like this before
You simply can’t deny it
You must… follow the song
As you swim you get a glimpse from time to time
Of the person on the rocks
Their features hidden in shadow
But you can see them extending their arm
Holding out their hand
As if asking you
Begging you
To take their hand
To join them.
The realization of this
Spurs you on even harder
Your swim more quickly
Putting in all of your strength
To pull yourself through the water
Until you finally reach the base of the rock formation
That they are sitting on
You find a rather
Smooth incline on the rock
And slowly
Carefully climb your way to the top
The figure has their back to you
As their song echos through the night
The moon light lighting you path until you find yourself
Sitting down behind them
Surprised to realize that the top of the rock
Is actually quite soft
A thick layer of moss
Providing a comfortable cushion for you to sit on.
As you just listen to the song
Echoing out into the night.
You reach out to touch the person
But before you can they turn to look at you
And you can’t help but gasp in surprise
Before you is one of the most
Attractive individuals that you have ever seen
Their features
May not match their voice
But never the less you feel as if
You are in a dream
As if the person in front of you
Is too good to be true
As if something had slipped inot your mind
And pulled out your ideal mate
The perfect person for you
They give you a soft smile
As they continue their song
You can’t help but notice that their eyes
Have an almost
Unworldly feel to them
As if they were somehow larger
As if they could somehow
Stare more deeply into your thoughts
Into your soul
The song seems to echo into your mind
You find yourself relaxing
More deeply
More completely with them
Their hand slides along your skin
And a soothing shiver slides through your body
Deeper and deeper
For a brief moment
You realize that something is happening to you
You shake your head to try and clear it
But as you do they tilt your face to theirs
And just stare into your eyes
And continue their song
And you can’t but just
Fall into their eyes
Letting the song take you
More and more deeply
Completely
Into their spell.
Your entire body just seems to start to relax
And an almost unnatural way
It’s as if the energy in your body
Is simply being… turned off.
You find that your arms and legs
Have become too heavy
You can’t move them
And your head is starting to nod
Slowly down towards your chest
But as it does
The siren moves their hand
And tilts your head up
So they can keep staring
Deeply into your eyes
A smile on their face they continue to sing
Your body is shivering
And shaking
As one by one the muscles in your body
Simply give in
Simply go limp
You find yourself almost
Falling back
If not of the siren’s hand there
To catch you
Laying you gently back on the moss
Staring into your eyes
As the song plays
More deeply
More clearly
Hauntingly echoing across the rocks
And the beach
Deep into the night.
You feel them slide their hand
Along your body
Soothing and seductive
An alluring quality to the siren
As they smile down at you
And for the first time you realize
That you are helpless
Captured by the figure before you
That thought sends a shiver through your body
But only for a moment
As the song
And the gaze
And the touch
Quickly empty your mind
Of all thoughts
As you simply lay there,
Listening
More and more deeply
To the siren’s call
They have you now
Completely ensared
In their sonic net
And they can do…
What ever it is.
That they would like with you now.
As you feel the siren
Enjoy your body
Enjoy your form
You can’t help but feel yourself
Drifting more and more depely
Into a peaceful
Restful state
As their song lulls you to sleep
Your eyes flutter
As you look at them
Smiling down at you as their song continues
Leaning in closer and closer to you
You can feel their breathe along yours
Warm and inviting
As they smile
And let their song fade away
…
And just stare down into your eyes
Smiling as they lean in
And kiss you.
And as they do
The world seems to just fade away.
As your eyes drift closed
And all the remains is the waves
Rolling in
And sliding out
Again and again…
[splash sound after a few waves]
After a time
You begin to feel the water
Sliding along your body
As the tide softly rolls in
The waves gently pick up your sleeping form
And rock you slowly
Softly
Along the surface of the water
Safely above the rocks
That have sunk beneath the tides
You feel your body sliding higher
And drifting deeper
As the waves slowly
Carry you to the sand
You feel your body being gently deposited
Along the edge of the surf
Feeling the water flowing in
And sliding along your body
All the way up to your shoulders
Before slipping down
And receding into the ocean
The light of the moon shining down on your body
As the warm water keeps you safe
And calm
And just lets you drift
More deeply and easily
Into a peaceful sleep.
And here you will rest
Just listening to the sounds of the waves
And feeling how soothing it is.
While you fantasize
While you dream…
Dream about magical power
Of the sirens call.
